There was multiple storylines among the weekly divisions at Delaware International Speedway on Saturday night.

After several rainouts, it was the final night on the points schedule.

After an early caution in the 25-lap Modified feature, Jordan Watson had a great restart and took over the top spot.

With eight laps left, Brad Trice was battling Watson for the lead. But, in a shocking turn of events, Trice clipped the edge of the wall and broke his left front. Watson faced no pressure for the remainder of the race and set sail for the checkered flag, completing a sweep of the entire Delaware Dirt Modified season.

The USAC East Coast Wingless Sprint Car’s went green for the only time this year at Delaware International.

After a late-race caution, the field was stacked back together. Alex Bright had a great restart over Briggs Danner and pulled a slide job to take over the lead for the first time.

Bright then dominated the remainder of the feature and brought home his eighth win of the season.

With 11 laps to go in the Super Late Model feature, Mark PettyJohn maintained the lead after a restart. But Donald Lingo Jr was the fastest car on the track and started to slowly close in on Pettyjohn.

With five laps to go, though, the caution came out for J.T. McLanigan. With a five-lap dash, Pettyjohn maintained a comfortable lead, brought home his second win of the season and clinched his spot into the championship weekend.

Derek Magee, last year’s champion in the Rush Crate Late Model division, claimed another victory this season.

In the last feature of the evening — the AC Delco Modified feature race — Greg Humlhanz started from the pole and commanded the race from start to finish for his second victory of the season.

In the Mod Lite division, Tim White took home the win while other feature winners included Kerry King Sr. (Vintage Modifeds) and Terry Chaney (Sportsman).

Racing will return at the half-mile track on Oct. 2 for the 49th running of the Camp Barnes Benefit Stock Car Race.
