CAMBRIDGE — Rotarian Amanda Hailey, Community Outreach Coordinator for the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore, spoke recently to the Rotary Club of Cambridge. During her talk, Ms. Hailey shared the Impact Report for 2019-2020 and Dorchester statistics from the 2020-2021 campaign.

She said there are 57 programs served in Dorchester as well as 31 partners served. With $73,749 raised in Dorchester County in 2019-2020, the county received almost $130,000 in services touching 28 percent of the population.

One of the United Way programs for which the Rotary Club of Cambridge has partnered is the “Dolly Parton Imagination Library”. This program provides a child up to the age of 5 with a book on a monthly basis. All parents need to do is fill out a simple form.

The Club chose to make an annual donation to the Project as part of Rotary’s literacy emphasis. For information about the Rotary Club of Cambridge go to cambridgemdrotary.org.
