Robert “Bobby” Kenneth Hawkins, age 33, of Camden, DE, was suddenly called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
Bobby graduated from Polytech High School in 2011. While at Polytech, he enjoyed working lights and sound for all drama productions. After graduation, Bobby worked at Polytech as a custodian for ten years. During that time, he started Hawkins Wood Services with his father. For the past four years, Bobby worked as a patient transport driver for East Coast/All American Ambulance & Wheelchair Services and GEM Mobile Health.
In 2016, Bobby joined the Camden-Wyoming Fire Department where he began as a firefighter. For the past several years, Bobby served as a Fire Policeman, a role that he truly enjoyed. Bobby was also a member of the Kent County Fire Police Honor Guard.
Bobby attended Dover Bible Chapel most of his life and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the age of seven on April 15, 1999. Bobby loved a variety of music, especially hymns and gospel music. He enjoyed assisting with the Dover Bible Chapel sound system and other maintenance projects at the chapel.
Wherever there was a need, even if it was just picking up the donuts for fellowship, you could count on Bobby to volunteer.
Bobby is survived by his parents, Robert C. Hawkins, Jr. and Mary Lou Hawkins of Felton, DE, along with his siblings, Megan (Lars) Kirk of Magnolia, DE, Chloe (Aaron) Roach of Brownsburg, IN, and John Hawkins of Felton, DE. Bobby was also the proud uncle of Peter, Madalyn, Teddy and Jane, who especially loved trips to the firehouse with Uncle Bobby. Bobby is also survived by Grandparents Robert C. Hawkins, Sr. of Camden, DE, and Norman and Gladys Wilkerson of Dover, DE, along with a host of Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved Nana, Shirley Ann Hawkins, of Camden, DE. Bobby loved spending time with his family and he will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services will be held 11AM, Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Route 10), Dover, DE 19901. A viewing will be held from 5 to 8pm, Tuesday evening. Interment will be in Barratt’s Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
