Recipients of Manufactured Housing Scholarship named in Delaware

The First State Manufactured Housing Association has announced the four recipients of the Manufactured Housing Scholarship Award for 2022-23.

Each scholarship is in the amount of $2,500.

The awardees are:

  • Nick Aron, a 2022 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School, Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, will be attending the Villanova School of Business in the fall. Mr. Aron was a two-sport athlete in high school and a captain of the basketball team. During his free time, he enjoys golfing, fishing and working out. In the summer, he spends time in Pot-Nets, boating and hanging out with friends.
  • Isaac Brumbley, a 2020 graduate of Delmar High School and a rising junior at Virginia Tech, majors in civil engineering, with a 3.86 GPA. This summer, Mr. Brumbley will be a returning intern at Whiting-Turner, a construction engineering and management firm. He plans on entering the construction field as an engineer after graduation. In his spare time, he enjoys working out, hiking and playing sports.
  • Nikolas Karnes, a 2022 graduate of First State Military Academy, will be attending Delaware State University to study food nutrition/dietetics. Mr. Karnes was involved in the National Society of High School Scholars and received Commandant Honor Roll numerous times in high school. He is an active member of his community and enjoys spending time with family, friends and pets. He resides in a manufactured home in Viola.
  • Jaydon Mifflin, a 2022 Sussex Tech High School graduate, will be attending DSU in the fall, majoring in music.

The First State Manufactured Housing Association has provided $79,000 for 59 scholarship recipients since 1999. The program is available to high school seniors or graduates who reside in manufactured or modular housing within the state of Delaware for at least one year prior to application. Eligible candidates are also evaluated on scholastic record, financial need, essay and personal/professional recommendations.

The scholarship may be used for any type of accredited two- or four-year degree program or for any accredited trainings, licensing or certification program. Full- or part-time registration is acceptable (part-time minimum is seven credits).

The First State Manufactured Housing Association is the professional trade association representing the interests of the manufactured and modular housing industry in Delaware.
