Recipient of Operation Christmas Child shoebox to speak in Marion

MARION — Many individuals and local churches give to Operation Christmas Child, the ministry of Samaritan’s Purse which delivers gift-filled shoeboxes to boys and girls in need in more than 160 countries and territories worldwide. But rarely do donors get to meet someone blessed by this act of kindness.

On Saturday, Sept. 18 at 10 a.m. at Christ Fellowship Bible Church, a young woman in her 20s who received a shoebox from Operation Christmas Child at the age of 10 while in a Russian orphanage will share her story of what it meant to receive this gift.

The church is located at 5910 Crisfield Highway just north of Marion. Those interested in this program are invited to attend. For more about Operation Christmas Child click here.
