A trial is set to begin for Phoenix Mercury WNBA star Brittney Griner, who was accused of possession of vape cartridges containing cannabis oil, arrested in Russia in February, less than a week before Russia invaded Ukraine. The U.S. Department of State recently reclassified the case as “wrongfully detained” and the U.S. special presidential envoy for hostage affairs has taken it over. How should the U.S. handle high-profile detainments such as this? If you were arrested and detained by a foreign government, how would you want your case handled?
