Professional Achievers: Lynn Clark to lead Perdue Human Resources

Lynn Clark has been named senior vice president and chief human resources officer for Perdue Farms.

In her new role, Clark will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s Human Resources strategy, including engaging and developing talent, shaping culture, and focusing on associate well-being through talent management, organization development, and inclusion and diversity. She will report to Randy Day, Chief Executive Officer of Perdue Farms.

Clark joins Perdue from Colfax Corp., where she was chief HR officer for more than six years. Before that, she was chief HR officer for Mead Johnson Nutrition Co. Earlier, Clark held leadership roles at Bristol-Myers Squibb, Lucent Technologies, Honeywell, Lee Hecht Harrison and Executone Communications.

She began her career in university career counseling before moving into Sales and Marketing.

Chesapeake Health Care welcomes Brittany Yerkes

Chesapeake Health Care has welcomed its newest Physician Assistant, Brittany Yerkes.

Yerkes received her bachelor’s. in Biology from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania and her master’s  in Physician Assistant Studies from Philadelphia University.

She is an Infectious Disease Specialist with a focus on chronic HIV and Hepatitis C care.

Before joining Chesapeake Health Care, Brittany was a Physician Assistant at Chase Brexton Health Services. She is currently also an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, where she provides instruction to students in the Physician Assistant program.

Kyle McCracken named iFrog CEO

 iFrog Marketing Solutions has named Kyle McCracken as its new Chief Executive Officer. McCracken, who was appointed by co-founder Dave Wilson, has assumed day-to-day leadership of the Easton-based company.

Since 2019, McCracken has been serving iFrog Marketing Solutions as Chief Product Officer, where he focused on building and delivering purpose-driven technology solutions, along with streamlining internal processes through automation and integration.

Prior to joining iFrog, he held numerous positions but more recently spent years building, leading, and managing a technology software and professional services company in B2B integration.

Egan, Mock selected for Leadership Maryland

 Dr. Chrys Egan, Associate dean of SU’s Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts, and Dr. Robert C. Mock Jr., a senior University of Maryland Eastern Shore administrator, are among 50 leaders from across the state who will participate in a professional development program for 2021 known as Leadership Maryland.  

Founded in 1992, Leadership Maryland is a nonprofit organization designed to inform top-level executives about critical issues, challenges and opportunities in the state. 

In addition to her duties with the Fulton School, Egan is an SU Professor of Communication and holds leadership positions in several communications associations. 

Mock joined UMES President Heidi M. Anderson's administration in December 2018 to serve as Chief of Staff and as a member of her senior leadership team.

SU’s Weer named among top women

 Dr. Christy Weer, Dean of Salisbury University’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business, has been named among Maryland’s Top 100 Women for 2021 by The Daily Record, a Baltimore-based business newspaper. 

Weer earned her master’s from SU in 1996. After working several years in the insurance industry and receiving her doctorate from Drexel University, she returned to SU as an Assistant Professor. She became business school dean in 2015. 

Under Weer’s leadership, the Perdue School’s entrepreneurship and sales programs have grown exponentially, positioning it as a regional leader in those areas. 

She and other Top 100 Women honorees will be recognized during an online awards celebration Thursday, May 13.

Penni Nichols named M&T Bank Vice President

Penni Nichols has joined M&T Bank as Vice President and Business Banking Relationship Manager for the bank’s Eastern Shore Business Banking team in Salisbury. 

Nichols comes from PNC Bank, where she most recently served as an Agricultural Business Banker. She brings more than 30 years of experience building strong relationships with business lines, partners and customers to the bank. 

Nichols earned her a Business degree from Wor-Wic Community College and is a graduate of the Maryland Bankers Association’s Maryland Banking School. 

SU faculty members receive Regents Awards

 The University System of Maryland Board of Regents recently recognized three Salisbury University faculty members with one of its highest honors: the Regents Award for Excellence. 

Dr. Céline Carayon, Associate Professor of History and Director of SU’s graduate program in History, earned the award for Scholarship, Research or Creative Activity.

Drs. Ani Mathers, Associate Professor of Finance and Associate Dean of SU’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business, and Kristen Walton, Professor of History and Director of SU’s Nationally Competitive Fellowships Office, were honored for Excellence in Mentoring. 

Carayon is a colonial American scholar whose research focuses on interactions between European explorers and Indigenous peoples.

Carayon earned her doctorate in History from the College of William and Mary. 

In addition to her work in the classroom, Mathers has supported the professional development of many students as the faculty adviser for SU’s chapters of the Financial Management Association and Student United Way, and through her leadership as founding director of the Business Honors Program in the University’s Glenda Chatham and Robert G. Clarke Honors College. 

Mathers earned her doctorate in Finance from the University of Florida. 

Walton has mentored dozens of SU students who have won more than 60 prestigious national and international scholarships and fellowships, including the Gates Cambridge, Goldwater and Boren awards. SU has been named among the nation’s top producers of Fulbright Students for the past four years. 

Walton earned her doctorate in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. 

This year’s winners will be honored during the USM Board of Regents virtual meeting in April.
