DOVER — The Delaware State Police are investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist on Friday afternoon in Dover.

Police said that around 3:21 p.m., a 32-year-old man driving a 2005 Honda Accord westbound on Forrest Avenue near Nault Road made a left turn directly into the path of a 25-year-old man on a 2007 Suzuki GSX-R motorcycle traveling eastbound. In an attempt to avoid a collision, the motorcyclist braked and laid the bike down on its side before both rider and motorcycle collided into the right side of the car.

Police said the Accord rotated clockwise, coming to a stop in the southbound lane of Nault Road, while the motorcyclist slid to a stop near the centerline of Forrest Avenue.

The motorcyclist was transported to Bayhealth and pronounced dead. The man in the Accord was properly restrained and uninjured.
