MAGNOLIA — On Monday, Delaware State Police identified Sergio Wilkerson, 37, of Smyrna as the person who was killed during an altercation on Feb. 6.

Mr. Wilkerson died after being stabbed during the incident at a residence on Millchop Lane, spokeswoman Master Cpl. Heather Pepper said. A 34-year-old female was treated at an area hospital with stab wounds to the abdomen.

Police were called to the scene at approximately 3:25 a.m., DSP said. Investigation determined that a verbal altercation had occurred between several people who were at a party at a trailer located behind the residence.

People left the party and went to the residence, police said, but the conflict then reignited at the home. Two persons were then stabbed with a large knife, authorities said.

Following investigation, James Palmer, 46, of Dover, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony (two counts). He was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $1,120,000 cash bond.
