Phyllis A. Bonniwell, of Harrington, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at home with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late James and Gladys Hobbs.
Before receiving her nursing degree, Mrs. Bonniwell was a bus driver. She
was a very loving person who spent her life taking care of others as a nurse. She worked in pediatrics at Bayhealth Kent General and later did home health through Maxim Healthcare. Mrs. Bonniwell was an avid supporter of St. Jude’s Children Research. When she wasn’t working, Mrs. Bonniwell enjoyed needlepoint and spending time with her family, grandchildren, dog, and horse.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter,
Lisa Muhs. Mrs. Bonniwell is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, George Bonniwell III; daughter, April McColley (Mike); grandchildren, Bethany
McColley, Trevor McColley (Meghan); great-granddaughter, Brielle Shulties;
sister, Janice Dennis; and her dog, Buffy.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at
Hollywood Cemetery, Milford- Harrington Hwy., Harrington, DE at 1 PM.
