The Wicomico County Education Foundation held a retirement celebration for Superintendent Donna Hanlin last Saturday. Hanlin, retiring after 44 years in education including the last six years as Superintendent of Schools, was surrounded by family, friends and colleagues. WCEF's Susan Purnell and Mike Dunn presided over the ceremony which included a number of proclamations and gifts from state Sens. Mary Beth Carozza and Addie Eckhart, Wicomico County Council President John Cannon and Acting County Executive John Psota, Salisbury Mayor Jake Day, Wicomico Board of Education Chairman Gene Malone, Salisbury University President Charles Wight and Chis Eccleston of Delmarva Veteran Builders.
