Pair from Dover face drug charges after traffic stop

DOVER — Malik Sutton and Hornice Green, both of Dover, were arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop Monday, said Dover police spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman.

Authorities said that, around 3:54 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle in the area of Queen and Mary streets because Mr. Sutton was allegedly driving with a suspended license.

During the stop, officers smelled marijuana and located 3.8 grams of the drug during a subsequent search, Sgt. Hoffman said.

During a search of Mr. Sutton and the passenger, Ms. Green, officers found 29.6 grams of cocaine on him and three bags of heroin and 0.8 grams of cocaine on her, police said. A total of $1,746 in suspected drug proceeds was also found.

Mr. Sutton was charged with possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana (civil). He was released after posting a $41,500 secured bond.

Ms. Green was charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on a $3,500 unsecured bond.
