Opinion: Anderton offers the leadership Wicomico needs

Posted

While our community mourns the loss of Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver, it’s important to take time to celebrate his accomplishments and his dedication to our county.

During these challenging times, we need to remain focused on our community’s future and continue our forward progress.

Per the County Charter, the County Council only has 45-days to appoint Mr. Culver’s successor.

As County Executive, Bob Culver had numerous accomplishments and notable feats -- I think we can all agree he never quit!

His legacy merits a leader who will never quit working for Wicomico County. We need a leader with the same passion, commitment and determination.

Carl Anderton Jr. is a proven leader with experience as a former town of Delmar Mayor and current two-term Maryland State Delegate. He offers the vision, local/state knowledge and experience, fresh ideas, and the open mind that Wicomico County deserves.

Our County Council’s selection of Delegate Anderton as our next County Executive would be a strong addition to our county leadership. His proven ability to serve the citizens of Wicomico County is unmatched.

Delegate Anderton would provide the fresh start needed for the next chapter in Wicomico County’s rich history. He is ready and committed to serve as our third-ever County Executive, and his leadership is vital to our county’s future prosperity.

Bradley Gillis lives in Salisbury.
