One injured in Dover shooting

DOVER — A 37-year-old man was shot in the leg Saturday in the 100 block of South New Street, Dover police spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman said.

Police responded to a shots-fired report at approximately 2:18 p.m. Sgt. Hoffman said the wounded man initially denied he had been shot and was uncooperative with officers.

The victim was first transported to Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus, Dover, before being transferred to ChristianaCare, Newark, for treatment.

Dover police did not release information about a suspect.
