SEAFORD - Delaware State Police are currently investigating an officer-involved shooting that left a 51-year-old Seaford woman dead Thursday night, spokeswoman Master Cpl. Heather Pepper said.

According to Cpl. Pepper, troopers were dispatched to Danny Drive at approximately 7:13 p.m. During the course of the investigation, an incident led to a DSP trooper firing his divisional-issued weapon.

DSP said the investigation is still in the early stages and no further information will be released until appropriate next-to-kin notifications have been made.

The trooper assigned to DSP Troop 5 is currently placed on administrative duty in adherence to DSP divisional policy, Cpl. Pepper said.
