No injuries reported in Lewes residential fire

LEWES - No injuries reported in a residential blaze Sunday, Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office spokesman John Galaska said.

The fire was in the 17000 block of Chatham Street was reported shortly before 8:30 a.m. The Lewes Fire Department responded and found smoke and flames coming from the structure. Mutual aid fire companies assisted at the scene.

State fire investigators were called to the scene and performed an investigation to determine the origin and cause. The cause of the fire is still currently under investigation.

Damage was estimated at $50,000. The home was occupied at the time of the fire.
