New York murder suspect, 16, arrested in Dover

DOVER — A 16-year-old male wanted by police in New York on a murder charge was taken into custody at a residence in Dover on Wednesday, Dover police spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman said.

Authorities said Maliki Johnson was located in the 300 block of Northdown Drive in the Village of Westover neighborhood. He was taken into custody at approximately 4 p.m.

The Johnson youth was wanted by the Westchester County Department of Public Safety for charges of second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a firearm.

He was being held at Stevenson House Detention Center, Milford, until he is extradited back to New York, police said.
