Murder suspects arrested at Dover hotel

DOVER — Two West Virginia women, each wanted on a first-degree murder charge, were arrested at a Dover hotel Wednesday, authorities said.

Bluefield residents Isis Wallace, 22, and Nichole Brooks, 42, were taken into custody at approximately 9 p.m. at the MainStay Suites, 201 Stone Blvd., Dover police spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman said.

The apprehension by Dover police and the U.S. Marshals Service's First State Fugitive Task Force stemmed from the shooting death of a 13-year-old female in Bluefield on March 23, according to Sgt. Hoffman.

Police said the teen suffered a gunshot wound to the head after multiple rounds were fired into a vehicle also occupied by two other people.

Officers conducted surveillance at the hotel before executing a search warrant and taking the women into custody without incident. They are being held at Baylor Women's Correctional Institution, New Castle, while awaiting extradition to West Virginia, police said.
