MILFORD — A 33-year-old Lincoln woman died in a two-vehicle collision on Canterbury Road approaching Deer Valley Road Wednesday morning.

The woman was driving northbound when her 2009 Toyota Prius crossed a double solid yellow line and collided with a southbound 2006 Peterbilt truck pulling a trailer, Delaware State Police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Heather Pepper said.

The woman was ejected from her vehicle, which came to rest on the grass shoulder of the northbound lane, police said. She was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Identification was pending notification to next of kin.

Police said the Peterbilt truck sustained severe damage. The driver, a 64-year-old man from Milford, was unable to steer the truck, which left the roadway and struck several trees before coming to a stop. He was not injured, police said.

Police said investigation by the DSP Troop 3 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues, and ask anyone with information to contact Sgt. John Wheatley by calling 697-4454.
