DOVER — Carolyn Fredricks, president and CEO of the Modern Maturity Center in Dover, was presented a Kent County Levy Court Medal of Honor for her dedication and advocacy on behalf of older adults at the commissioners’ meeting Tuesday.
Ms. Fredricks started working as a volunteer at the nonprofit Modern Maturity Center in 1972.
During her tenure, Ms. Fredricks has increased programs and services and transformed the center into the largest of its kind in Delaware.
She has also collaborated with other stakeholders to help put in place the Delaware Senior Trust Fund, which established funding services for the senior population and secured additional monies for the Meals on Wheels nutrition program.
The Medal of Honor is Levy Court’s highest award. This was the first medal presentation since September 2018.
