MILLSBORO — A 37-year-old Millsboro man was arrested on burglary charges after three incidents in August, Delaware State Police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Heather Pepper said.

At the beginning of August, troopers responded to a residence in the 31000 block of Vacation Road in Millsboro for two burglaries to outbuildings. During the incidents, the suspect forced entry into the buildings and stole power tools, police said.

On Aug. 17, troopers were dispatched to a residence in the 34000 block of Westwood Drive, also in Millsboro, for a theft complaint. During that incident, the suspect entered an open trailer and stole a marine battery.

After an investigation, police said, Paul S. McCarter was determined as a suspect in the three events. On Thursday, troopers took him into custody without incident.

Mr. McCarter was charged with third-degree burglary (two counts), theft under $1,500 (three counts), criminal mischief (two counts) and third-degree criminal trespass. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 3, Georgetown, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on a $6,000 secured bond.
