Millsboro fundraiser to support local families in need

MILLSBORO — The Community Resource Center will be hosting its annual fundraiser, “Building Bridges for Neighbors in Need,” on May 12 from 6-9 p.m. at The Peninsula on the Indian River Bay Clubhouse.

Tickets are $75 per person. Proceeds will benefit the center’s Food Rescue, Baby Pantry, Job Center, Day Center and Emergency Financial Assistance programs. This event will feature food, an open bar and entertainment by Benny Preston.

During the fundraiser, the 2022 Community Advocate Award will be presented to Harry Keswani, founder of the Harry K Foundation, a group that has vowed to end childhood hunger in Delaware. Since 2015, the foundation has sponsored the Baby Pantry at CRC.

Donors can also help by texting “Bridges22” to 41444. In addition, CRC will be collecting nonperishable food and baby items during the evening.

CRC is a charitable, volunteer-driven organization, created in 2011 to assist low-income individuals and families in times of need.
