MILFORD — A 52-year-old man sustained burn injuries when fire heavily damaged the home he lived in Monday, Delaware State Fire Marshal spokesman Scott Bullock said.

At 4:15 a.m., authorities said, the occupant told a neighbor that the house in the 700 block of Cicada Lane was on fire. The Carlisle Fire Co. of Milford responded to the alarm and arrived with flames throughout the residence.

Assistance was requested from several neighboring fire companies. The blaze was placed under control at 5:16.

The injured man was flown to Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Upland, Pennsylvania, by the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit.

Deputy state fire marshals are conducting the investigation.

The victim was listed in stable condition early Monday afternoon. No other injuries were reported.

Damages to the house were estimated at $200,000.
