Milford man charged with fourth offense DUI

Milford man charged with fourth offense DUI

SEAFORD - Michael Moyer, 40, of Milford, was charged with a fourth offense DUI following a traffic stop early Wednesday, Delaware State Police said.

According to spokesman Trooper Raushan Rich, at approximately 12:53 a.m., a trooper patrolling Sussex Highway, near Concord Road, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that had an expired registration plate. Troopers contacted the driver and only occupant Mr. Moyer, police said.

Troopers discovered Mr. Moyer was wanted and took him into custody, police said.

A search of Mr. Moyer and his vehicle revealed he was in possession of approximately .33 grams of methamphetamine, approximately .19 grams of crack cocaine, a concealed shotgun, and ammunition, police said.

Police said Mr. Moyer is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms and/or ammunition. He was also determined to be driving while under the influence of narcotics, according to authorities.

Mr. Moyer was charged with possession offenses including firearm by a person prohibited, ammunition by a person prohibited, firearm while possessing a controlled substance, firearm while under the influence, controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was also charged numerous traffic offenses.
Following arraignment by Justice of the Peace Court 2, Mr. Moyer was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on an $8,005 secured bond.
