We sadly announce the passing of Michael Dean Moore, a beloved member of the Delmar community. Michael, also known as Mikey, was born on June 18, 1951, in Salisbury, MD, one of 10 sons of the late Charles W. Moore and Mary Katherine (Collins) Moore. He passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where he had resided and was very well cared for during the past 8 years. He was a dedicated honorary member of various organizations such as the Delmar Fire Department, Delmar VFW, and Wicomico County Fire Police.
Michael had an amazing work ethic and through the years helped out at Tri-County Gas Co., worked in the kitchen at the Teen Adult Center and Dove Pointe. He loved helping at the firehouse and VFW with dinners and other events in any way that was needed. He had a huge heart for helping others.
Michael was known for his warm heart and love for all people, he never met a stranger. He'd be quick to remind you that you need to be clean shaven or show you the time on his favorite wristwatch. Michael loved his favorite cup of coffee at the Delmar Fire Department while showing the guys how to clean up and organize the chairs. He had a passion for traveling and cherished trips with family to Virginia Beach. He was a lifelong, die-hard Washington Redskin and Baltimore Orioles fan and loved wrestling and watching sports. Michael loved to attend weddings and other events that gave him a chance to show off his dance moves.
He is survived by his brothers, Ricky Moore and wife, Dee and Kenneth Moore, Sr. and wife, Pat; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Moore, Grace Moore, Linda Elliott and Bonnie Moore; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of those who loved him. He is also survived by his family and friends at the Delmar Fire Department, Dove Pointe and Delmar VFW.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jerry, C.T., Bobby, Ronnie, Jackie, Phil and Billy.
