Margaret Eunice Knauer, of Trappe passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Bridgeville, DE on March 21, 1932 and was a daughter of the late Frank and Sarah Condon Friedel.
She graduated from Bridgeville High School in 1950. On July 22, 1950 she married Irvin Carl Knauer, Jr., who passed away on October 1, 2020. Granny was a farmer's wife and she cared for her family. She enjoyed sewing and cooking. Granny was a member of the Emmanuel Wesleyan Chapel in Trappe, Bayside Quilters of the Eastern Shore, and an honorary member Trappe Fire Company.
She is survived by her children, Shirley Ann Windsor, Jean Ann Frampton, Lou Diefenderfer (Sonny) and Patti K. DeWitt (Bob), seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two brothers Jacob Friedel and Clarence Friedel, sister Ruby Katcher, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Granny is preceded in death by her son Irvin (Butch) Carl Knauer III, grandson John Andrew Windsor and son-in-law Carlton Windsor, two sisters, Jane Stevenson and Carol Todd and a brother, Kenneth Friedel.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 11am at Upper Bambury Cemetery with Rev. Robert Hawkins officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Trappe Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 86, Trappe, MD 21673, Talbot Hospice, 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD 21601 or to Emmanuel Wesleyan Chapel, 29503 Piney Hill Road, Trappe, MD 21673. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
