DOVER — The Dover Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred in the parking lot of Planet Fitness late Friday night.

A 21-year-old male was walking in the parking lot of the business when approached by two male suspects wearing ski masks at approximately 11:46 p.m., police said.

One suspect was armed with a black handgun as they both demanded the victim’s belongings. The suspect took the victim’s wallet, car keys, jewelry, and a cell phone, police said.

When the victim ran inside the business to call police, the suspects stole the victim’s vehicle, police said. The vehicle is a black 2019 Honda Accord with Maryland tags: 1DW9276.

Authorities described the suspects as two black males. One was wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt and the second was wearing all black.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302) 736-7111. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or online at delaware.crimestoppersweb.com; a cash reward is possible for information leading to an arrest.
