DOVER — A 26-year-old man was shot once in the leg early Wednesday as a recent surge of gun violence continued in the capital city.
The man suffered a non-life-threatening wound after being shot in the 400 block of River Road, Dover police spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman said. He was transported to Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus, Dover, for treatment. The man was uncooperative with investigators, police said when announcing the incident later Wednesday morning.
Officers were called to the area for a shots-fired report at 12:07 a.m. A residence and vehicle were also struck by gunfire, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, and police asked anyone with information to call 736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333 or here; a cash reward is possible for information leading to an arrest.
