Man dies in single-vehicle crash in Dover

DOVER — A 22-year-old Hartly man died in a single-vehicle crash Sunday, Delaware State Police spokesman Senior Cpl. Jason Hatchell said.

Logan Haxton was alone in a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer that was traveling at a high rate of speed and that left Pearsons Corner Road at approximately 3:45 a.m. The vehicle then returned to the road and left it again, before striking two trees.

Mr. Haxton was pronounced dead at the scene.

Pearsons Corner Road was closed for approximately three hours, while the crash was being investigated and cleared.

The investigation is ongoing. Police asked anyone with information to contact Sgt. Wheatley of the DSP Troop 3 Collision Reconstruction Unit at 698-8451. Information may also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or by visiting here.
