How can the office best serve the public?

This office best serves the public when fulfilling its proper role in state government. This means following clear statutory requirements to audit all state agencies and local school districts.

What are the top three issues for this office in your view?

  1. Stabilization and support of current staff.
  2. Compliance with all statutory requirements of the Auditor’s Office, including audits of local school districts.
  3. Review of current staffing levels and contractor participation in state audits.

Are there any new initiatives or changes you would bring to the office?

Yes. While not precisely new, when elected, I would make sure all the statutory requirements of the office are fulfilled in their entirety. This would include all directives found in various laws passed by the General Assembly.

Do you believe Delaware would benefit from an inspector general?

Yes. While the auditor of accounts has broad authority to review what has occurred, the office has no enforcement authority. An inspector general would have enforcement authority.
