MEN, Delaware 16, St. Joseph’s 13: Sophomore Mike Robinson netted nine goals — the most for a UD players in almost six decades — as the Blue Hens (2-1) held off the Hawks.

The last Blue Hen to score nine goals in a game was Hayler Osborn, who did it against Towson State on May 4, 1963.

Senior goalie Matt Kileary made 16 stops in net. Tye Kurtz chipped in a hat trick with three goals and one assist.

Delaware jumped out to a 9-1 lead with 12:43 left in the second quarter. St. Joe’s cut that advantage to only 12-7 at halftime, though.

In his first game of the year, Charlie Kitchen kept his point streak alive, finding Tye Kurtz from long range to start the scoring off in the third quarter. The Hawks responded again with three-consecutive goals to pull within, 13-10.

Robinson scored the next two goals to push the Hens’ lead back to five with 8:29 remaining.
