Three adult residents were inside the home in the 19000 block of Bunting Avenue when the incident took place, police said. Troopers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 1:55 a.m.

The bullet pierced an exterior wall of a bedroom where one of the occupants was sleeping, continued through an interior wall and became lodged in a hallway ceiling, Cpl. Pepper said.

The Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call 302-856-5850. Information may also be provided to Delaware Crime Stoppers via 800-TIP-3333 or here.
