Kent County Public Library slates limited reopening

DOVER — Beginning Monday, , the Kent County Public Library, at 497 S. Red Haven Lane in Dover, will reopen to the public for browsing and computer use on a limited schedule:

Monday – Friday: 10 a.m. – noon and 2 – 6 p.m.

Saturday: 1 - 5 p.m.

Sunday: Closed

A face covering, temperature check and simple wellness screening will be required for entry into the building. Computer usage will be limited to 45 minutes per patron. Social distancing and other proactive measures related to COVID-19 will be strictly enforced by library staff. Occupancy in the building is limited to 25 patrons at any one time. If the number of patrons in the building reaches 25, other visitors will have to wait to enter the library until another person exits.

Call-ahead, curbside pick-up service of items placed on hold and requested book bundles will continue through to the end of March:

Monday – Friday: 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Saturday: 1 – 4 p.m.

Sunday: Closed

After nearly a year, the Kent County Mobile Library will make its return to the road beginning Tuesday with a limited schedule as well:

Tuesdays:

10:30 – 11:30 a.m., Byler’s Store (Dover)

Noon – 1 p.m., Hartly

2:30 – 3:30 p.m., Cheswold

Wednesdays:

10:30 – 11:30 a.m., Modern Maturity Center

Noon – 1:00 p.m., Kent County Administrative Complex

2:30 – 3:30 p.m., Spring Meadow

Thursdays:

10:30 – 11:30 a.m., Delaware Veteran’s Home

Noon – 1 p.m., Farmington

2:30 – 3:30 p.m., Felton

To maintain safe spacing, patrons will not be able to board the mobile library, however staff will deliver holds and collect returns from a station outside the vehicle. Patrons can put library materials on hold and then pick them up from the mobile library unit. The unit’s mobile wifi hotspot will also be operational at each stop.
