Juveniles allegedly causes fire that damages a Volkswagen

SALISBURY — Salisbury Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire at approximately 11:52 p.m. on July 7 on Delaware Avenue.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal reported that a 9-year-old and 6-year-old were playing with fire and ignited a piece of furniture on fire in the front yard. The fire spread to the property owner’s Volkswagen passenger car. which was located in close proximity to the furniture.

The 9-year-old was transported to Tidal Health in Salisbury to be evaluated for smoke inhalation

The estimated amount of structure is $50,000.
