June B. Butler of Dover passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. June was born on October 7, 1926, in Cambridge, MD to Nellie Adams and Frank Brusgatis.
June was a lifelong resident of Dover. After graduation from Dover High School in 1944 June worked at Farmers Bank and volunteered at the USO where she met her future husband "Jack" Butler who was serving at the Dover Army Air Force Base. After their marriage, June spent most of her working career with Jack at their business Davis & Butler, Inc. She continued working there after his passing in 1985.
She is known for her unwavering love and dedication to her family. She was the glue that held her family together, always present with support, warmth, and encouragement. June lived an active and vibrant life, cherishing time with family and friends and especially treasured annual family reunions at the beach.
In addition to her parents, June is preceded in death by her husband, John J. Butler, Jr., her sisters, Patricia Scharer, Sandra Stiles and Mary Loper, and brother John Mueller.
June is survived by her children, Gregory J. (Linda) Butler of Oakbrook, IL, and Susan L. (Ernest) Butler-Long of Camden, DE; brother, Ronald Mueller of Newark, DE; grandchildren, Eric M. Long, John G. Butler, Patrick C. Butler; and great grandchildren, Jack B. Butler, Lucy M. Butler, Knox M. Long, and Easton A. Long.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025 at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E Lebanon Rd, Dover, DE. The viewing will begin at 10:30 am. The Service will begin at 12 pm with the burial to follow immediately thereafter, at Lakeside Cemetery in Dover.
