CRISFIELD - J. William "Bill" Balderson went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from his home.
Born in Crisfield on July 18, 1935, he was a son of the late Elizabeth Ann Byrd Tyler. His loving wife of 65 years, Betty Lee Jones Balderson, preceded him in death on October 3, 2023.
He was a graduate of Crisfield High School and was retired from the US Air Force after 20 years of service. Following retirement, he worked in sales at Tawes Brothers Auto for 30 years. He also formerly co-owned Circle Inn restaurant. He truly loved his work.
Bill was a 55 year member of the Crisfield Church of God and served in numerous capacities over the years. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed woodworking with his late brother Bobby.
He is survived by three children, Terrie Crockett and husband David of Crisfield, Billy Balderson and wife Christa of Wilmington, DE, and Jamie Balderson and wife Terri of Crisfield; six grandchildren, Amy Lee Martini (Rick), Roni Lynn Cox (Cranston), DJ Crockett (Amber), Jay Balderson (Danielle), MaryKate Balderson, and Grace Balderson; nine great-grandchildren, Autumn Smith, A1C Frankie Panzo USAF, Domenic Panzo, Savannah Bozman, Cambree Cox, Owen Balderson, Daniel Balderson, Allaiah Pilkerton, and Jason Evans, Jr.; a niece, Valerie Howard (Tim) of Crisfield; his beloved Chihuahua, "Rosie"; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his mother and his wife; he was preceded in death by his twin brother in infancy; and his younger brother, Robert Lee "Bobby" Balderson.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 11, 2023 at 1 PM at the Crisfield Church of God where a viewing was one hour prior. Rev. Billy Balderson, Rev. Frances Thomas, and Rev. Mike Vaughan officiated. Interment with military honors will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crisfield Church of God, 134 Maryland Avenue, Crisfield, MD 21817.
