Investigation leads to arrest of two people allegedly involved in crash

WICOMICO COUNTY — The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Community Action Team (CAT), Criminal Investigation Division (CID), and members of Road Patrol participated in a warrant initiative operation on May 8, 2024.

During the course of the operation, warrant attempts were made on 10 subjects. These attempts provided crucial investigative information and resulted in two subjects being located and arrested:

Catherine Thornton
Catherine Ann Thornton, 39, was charged with the following:
Felony Charges:
• Homicide - MV/ Vessel - drugs;
• Homicide - MV/ Vessel - CDS;
• Negligent Manslaughter - Auto/Boat, etc.
Misdemeanor Charges:
• Alter physical evidence criminal procedure;
• Possession of a controlled dangerous substance - not marijuana;
• Criminally negligent manslaughter by vehicle or vessel.
Traffic Charges:
• Failure to immediately return and remain at scene of accident involving death;
• Failure of driver involved in accident remain at the scene of an accident and render appropriate aid to injured person.

Thornton is being held without bond.

Christopher Bruce Thomas Brown, 34, was charged with violation of probation for driving while under the Influence of alcohol

Brown is being held without bond.
