Hilligoss, Hackett named Wicomico Rotarians of the Year

The Rotary Club of Wicomico County recently named Molly Hilligoss and Don Hackett as its 2021-2022 Rotarians of the Year.

Molly Hilligoss, the Executive Director of Habitat For Humanity of Wicomico County, is the club’s treasurer.

Hackett, the Executive Director of Dove Pointe in Salisbury, a charter member of the Tuesday afternoon Rotary group.

Outgoing club President Gil Allen III announced the recognition. He praised both Hilligoss and Hackett for their many contributions to Rotary and the club.

Also at the event, seven-year Rotarian Tracy Hajir was officially sworn in as the new club president.

Annually, The Rotary Club of Wicomico County contributes over $50,000 back into the community through the support of agencies and causes including: YMCA, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, scholarships for local high school and college students, the Christian Shelter, Easter Seals Camp Fairlee, Fruitland Community Center, HALO, Wicomico County Library and Chesapeake Housing Mission.

The Rotary Club of Wicomico County is entering its 35th year of service to our community. The club meets every Tuesday at noon in the Wicomico Civic Center.
