HARRINGTON — A 36-year-old Harrington man was charged Wednesday with second-degree assault in connection with a domestic dispute, authorities said.

According to Harrington police spokesman Capt. Earl K. Brode, on Monday, a woman was punched several times in the face and struck with a chair during a dispute at a residence in the Diamond Court apartment complex. Police said Adrian L. Miller allegedly fled the scene prior to their arrival.

The injured woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment and released.

Warrants were obtained for Mr. Miller, who turned himself in to the Harrington Police Department on Wednesday. He was arraigned via videophone at Justice of the Peace Court 2, Rehoboth Beach. Mr. Miller was also charged with terroristic threatening and third-degree criminal trespass. He was released on a $5,500 unsecured bond.
