Posted

CAMBRIDGE - On Sept. 21 at 7:19 p.m., Cambridge Police responded to the 800 block of Mace’s Lane in reference to a male subject operating a white pick-up truck waving a gun at another individual. A short time later, the vehicle was located at the Cambridge Inn in the 2800 block of Ocean Gateway.

Contact was made with the operator. The man said he was in the Mace’s Lane area, a statement from police said.

Further investigation by officers on scene located a green Kel Tec Sub 2000, a pistol-caliber carbine, under the driver’s seat. Ammunition was also recovered in the vehicle.

In addition, the man was in possession of approximately 7 grams of suspected cocaine. He was also found to be prohibited from having a firearm in his possession.

Jabron Cooper was placed under arrest and charged with:

  • Possession with intent to distribute a narcotic
  • Transport of a firearm in relation to drug trafficking
  • Possession of a gun while convicted of a disqualifying crime
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cooper was later seen by the court commissioner and released on his own recognizance.
