FREDERICA — A residential fire on Jan. 6 that caused an estimated $350,000 in damage was determined to be accidental, the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office said Tuesday.

The blaze in the 500 block of Otter Way originated in the engine compartment of a vehicle parked inside the attached garage, spokesman Brian Bullock said.

The Red Cross of Delmarva is assisting six occupants of the home, Mr. Bullock said.
