Frankford Town Hall to reopen Tuesday
FRANKFORD — Frankford Town Hall, closed since Jan. 9 because of COVID concerns, is scheduled to reopen next week.
Council vice president Skip Ash on Friday said Cheryl Lynch, town clerk, is expected to return to work Tuesday, at which time town hall will reopen for business.
Meanwhile, the town’s annual municipal election is scheduled for the first Saturday in February, Feb. 5. Voting will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. at town hall, 9 Main Street.
Three of the five council seats are up for election. Those seats are currently held by Skip Ash, Pamela Davis and James Sample. All terms are for two years.
Council terms held by Greg Welch, council president, and John Wright are up for election in 2023.
To be eligible to run, a candidate must be 18 years of age or older, a resident of the town for at least one year immediately preceding the election date, and not have been convicted of a felony.
Candidate filing, in writing, must be received at town hall no later than the close of business 4:30 p.m. Jan. 24.
