DOVER — A shooting that occurred Sunday morning has left one man dead and four people injured, according to Delaware State Police.  

On Oct. 10, at about 1:03 a.m., troopers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Nathaniel Mitchell Road, for a report of a shooting, police say. Upon arrival, troopers located three males and two females who all suffered gunshot wounds.

All victims were transported to Bayhealth Hospital Kent Campus for treatment. At the hospital, a 22-year-old male victim was pronounced dead, police say. Identification is pending notification to next of kin. 

The two other males ages 25 and 19 are in stable condition, police say. A 25-year-old female victim was transported from Bayhealth to Christiana Hospital in critical condition, police say, and the other 19-year-old female was treated and released.

According to police, the initial investigation revealed that there was a party at the residence on Nathaniel Mitchell Road where subjects were standing in front of the residence. A vehicle allegeldy approached the residence with an unknown number of occupants. 

At that time, numerous rounds were fired at the partygoers standing in front of the residence resulting in five people being struck, police say. The suspects then fled in an unknown direction.

According to police, there is currently no suspect information available.
