Firearm, drug charges result from stop in Dover

DOVER — A 20-year-old Dover man was charged with firearm and drug offenses after being stopped while driving an off-highway vehicle (dirt bike) Tuesday night, authorities said.

According to Dover police, Malachi Moore was stopped at approximately 7:58 p.m. in the area of Barrister Place and South Little Creek Road. He was allegedly found in possession of a handgun, 10.1 grams of marijuana, and a digital scale, police said. Mr. Moore was found with two additional grams of marijuana when transported to the Dover Police Department holding facility, authorities said.

Mr. Moore was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon and illegal gang participation.

He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $52,500 secured bond.
