Firearm, drug arrest made in Dover

DOVER — Roderick Dixon , 37, of Dover, was arrested on firearms and drug offenses due to an investigation Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Mr. Dixon was contacted during a firearms and drug investigation in the 100 block of South New Street by Dover Police and Delaware Probation and Parole officers without incident, spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman said.

Police said he was found in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun, 27.7 grams of crack cocaine, 43 bags of heroin and 2.5 grams of marijuana.

Mr. Dixon was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of heroin with intent to deliver and possession of a firearm by person prohibited, along with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $60,501 secured bond.
