Felton vehicle pursuit brings gun, drug charges

FELTON - Three Dover males were arrested after a vehicle pursuit that began with a traffic violation, Felton Police Chief and spokesperson Christopher Guild said.

After a brief pursuit on East Main Street just after noon, police said, two men jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot for a short distance before being taken into custody. The vehicle’s driver fled on foot in an unknown direction, Chief Guild said.

Police said a juvenile possessed a fully loaded handgun with an extended 30 round magazine in his waistband. He was charged with resisting arrest, possess/consume marijuana under 18, carrying a concealed deadly weapon and possession of a deadly weapon, Chief Guild said.

The juvenile was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court and committed to Stevenson House in Lieu of $21,050 secured bail.

Police said an 18-year-old Dover man was charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest. He was video arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court and released on $1,000 unsecured bond.

John Lewis Gregory Jr., 18, of Dover was taken into custody without incident at his residence on Sunday. He was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, disregard a police officer signal, reckless driving, aggressive driving, speeding and failure to use a turn signal. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court and released on $2,203 unsecured bond.
