Energize Delaware providing EV grant money

Posted

The nonprofit Energize Delaware has allocated $5 million in grants to allow local governments to obtain easier access to electric-powered vehicles.

The Grants for Local Government EV Fleets application can be submitted starting Oct. 15. All municipalities in the state may apply.

The funding can be used for feasibility studies; electric motorcycles, cars, trucks, vans and riding lawn equipment; charging stations; utility upgrades; installations; and training for use of electric vehicle equipment. The money will be allocated until the end of June 2023.

Energize Delaware will accept one grant per applicant, unless they start with a feasibility study. If so, they can apply for a second grant for charging stations and vehicles. Grants will be awarded to those meeting the criteria found in the application.

Those interested can download application by visiting energizedelaware.org/ev-fleets/ . For information, call 302-883-3048.
