Drug, firearms offenses result from Dover investigation

DOVER - Melkin Ramos, 23, was arrested on drug and firearms offenses following a stop Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

Following a drug investigation, Dover police spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman said, officers stopped Mr. Ramos in the parking lot of Country Farms Store on South Little Creek Road. The stop was made at approximately 2:15 p.m.

During the stop, police said, Mr. Ramos was found to be in possession of a 9mm handgun and 14.9 grams of marijuana. Mr. Ramos later admitted to possessing a 12-gauge shotgun at his residence on South Little Creek Road, police said, which officers retrieved.

Mr. Ramos was charged with possession of a firearm by person prohibited, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was released on a $3,200 unsecured bond.
