DOVER — The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting incident which occurred on Saturday night in 400 block of Barrister Place.

When officers responded to the scene for a report of shots fired, they located a 22-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his leg, DPD spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman said. The victim was transported to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury and later released.

Three unoccupied vehicles that were parked in the area were also struck by gunfire, Sgt. Hoffman said.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the DPD at (302) 736-7111. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or online at delaware.crimestoppersweb.com; a cash reward is possible for information leading to an arrest.
