DOVER — A Dover native and Caesar Rodney High School graduate has stepped onto the national stage with rapper Kanye West, known these days as Ye.

Chaney Jones, 24, from Dover, is also a University of Delaware graduate and is currently pursuing a masters degree in counseling. She is the COO of First State Behavioral Health, whose website she has linked in her Instagram profile and about which has also made several posts. Last November, she announced on her page that a new mental health practice with the company is opening in Atlanta, where she resides.

Ms. Jones was first spotted with Mr. West on social media on Feb 7. leaving the listening party for “Donda 2,” his latest studio album. A week earlier, Ms. Jones posted photos of herself where many in the comments pointed out similarities between Ms. Jones and Mr. West’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian. Photos of them getting lunch in Miami surfaced on social media once again on Feb. 24.

Ms. Jones posted a photo of her and Mr. West together on her Instagram story on Feb. 28, captioned with a black heart emoji. On March 1, Mr. West took to his Instagram feed and uploaded a photo taken by paparazzi of him and Ms. Jones strolling through Miami. The caption was a black heart emoji, and Ms. Jones commented “My love” on the post with a black heart and fingers crossed emoji.

The couple has not been spotted since, but several news media outlets including Hollywood Life and Daily Mail have posted headlines accusing Ms. Jones of copying Ms. Kardashian’s look and style, going so far as to label her as a “clone.” Ms. Jones also opened up on her Instagram story, revealing she did undergo a procedure for a Brazilian butt lift, but affirms she has never had plastic surgery on her face.

Ms. Jones was a three-year starter for the CR softball team and helped the Riders advance to the Delaware state tournament as a junior in 2013 and senior ir 2014. She then went to Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island, where she played softball for her freshman year.

According to Bryant’s website, she appeared in 30 games, driving in eight runs off nine hits, including one double and one RBI. She recorded three stolen bases and batted .313 in conference play while having a .421 on base percentage and .275 slugging percentage.

She then transferred to UD and graduated with a degree in applied psychology in 2020.
